This low-power view from an orchiectomy performed for torsion shows diffuse hemorrhagic necrosis. The spermatic tubules image are seen as ghost outlines in a background of hemorrhage.






Testicular torsion often involves more than the testis proper. In this case, the epididymis shows extensive interstitial hemorrhage image and necrosis of the cords with sloughing epithelium image.
