Action – Antiseptic and antispasmodic. – Clinical experience has shown that eucalyptus oil compresses are effective in treating retention of urine and cystitis. Around 70% of patients are able to pass urine spontaneously up to 2 hours after treatment. The compresses also achieve good effects in patients with urinary retention following coronary angiography. Many patients with cystitis reported that the pain on urination disappeared after 2 to 3 days of treatment. Urine cultures have shown that oil compresses alone are not sufficient, but are an excellent adjunct to pharmaceutical treatment.
