Nevus lipomatosus often appears polypoid and consists of mature fat within the dermis.






The aggregates of mature adipose tissue image are often found around dermal blood vessels image.

  • Connective tissue nevus/hamartoma characterized by mature adipose tissue in reticular dermis

  • Most cases are idiopathic


Genetic



  • Single case described with 2p24 deletion



    • Importance in pathogenesis remains unclear
