Indications/uses: Approved uses (THR) are for the relief of symptoms of the common cold, such as cough, catarrh, sore throat, runny or blocked nose.
Evidence: No clinical information is available to support the use of wild indigo alone, and there is only limited data to support its use as part of a fixed herbal combination.
Safety: Overall considered to be safe, but contains phytoestrogens (such as those found in red clover and soya, see pp. 311–313) which must be taken into consideration.
