Benign fibroblastic tumor with multinucleated tumor giant cells and angiectoid spaces
May be related to solitary fibrous tumor/hemangiopericytoma group
Clinical Issues
Lesion of middle-aged adults; often involves orbit
Extraorbital lesions predominate in women
Does not recur following complete surgical excision
Microscopic Pathology
Bland spindle to round cell proliferation with variable cellularity
Prominent angiectoid spaces; cystic change and hemorrhage
Multinucleated stromal cells around angiectoid spaces
Tumor cells are CD34(+) and CD99(+)
