Clinical Issues
Common in young adults; male predominance
Painful tender subcutaneous nodule
May be multiple
Do not recur or undergo malignant transformation
Macroscopic Features
Encapsulated, yellow-red nodule
Typically < 2 cm in size
Microscopic Pathology
Admixture of mature adipocytes and capillary-sized blood vessels with fibrin thrombi
Vascular component predominates in cellular angiolipoma
 Angiolipomas are biphasic tumors composed of mature adipocytes  and branching, capillary-sized blood vessels  . |
 Angiolipomas are surrounded by a delicate capsule  , and the vascular component is often most prominent in the subcapsular region. |
