According to numerous anecdotal accounts, cannabis has long been considered effective for a range of women’s health issues, including dysmenorrhea, excessive menstrual bleeding, and premenstrual syndrome.223 Sadly, there is a surprising lack of formal research into the potential uses of cannabis medicines to address symptoms and conditions faced by women. Hopefully, this will change over the next decade as our understanding of sex differences found in the endocannabinoid system are elucidated.
