Women using cannabis have a slightly elevated risk of infertility due to ovulatory abnormalities.205 Some women choose to continue to use cannabis during pregnancy to reduce nausea from morning sickness and depression, despite somewhat contradictory evidence that cannabis use could have negative effects on prenatal, neonatal, and child development.206 A 2014 Swedish animal study indicated that pure THC interferes with fetal brain development.
