Introduction
This section continues the anatomy of some structures that were first introduced in Section II. An infrequently performed extraanatomic vascular bypass procedure—axillobifemoral bypass (Chapter 35)—describes the axillary artery and completes the discussion of the major neurovascular structures of the region.
The remaining sections describe those areas of upper extremity anatomy that are likely to be encountered in the operating room by the general surgeon or surgery resident on specialty rotations. References at the end include texts of hand and orthopedic surgery that give greater detail on these procedures as well as information about other operations.
