Intrapulmonary lymph nodes are generally a normal finding. They are increasingly recognized with imaging techniques in heavy smokers and individuals with high dust exposure and, therefore, are biopsied. They are usually 10 mm or less in size. Intrapulmonary lymph nodes are usually peribronchial, septal, or subpleural; they are not usually found in the peripheral lung parenchyma.
