3 Examiner names 3 objects. Ask patient to repeat all 3. Give 1 point for each correct answer.
5 Serial 7′s from 100 to 65 (1 point for each answer), or spell “world” backwards.
3 Ask again to recall 3 objects named above
2 Examiner points to 2 common objects (e.g., pencil, watch) and patient names them.
1 Repeat the following: “No ifs, ands, or buts.”
3 Follow three-step command: “Take the paper in your right hand, fold it in half, and place it on the floor.”
