Hidradenoma papilliferum at low magnification shows a proliferation of papillary, cystic, and glandular areas with a complex, arborizing architecture. The tumors are dermal-based and well circumscribed.
Higher magnification of a hidradenoma papilliferum shows the elongated, arborizing papillary structures image lined by 2-3 cell layers of bland columnar luminal cells and underlying myoepithelial cells.
