Low magnification of a PDM shows a well-circumscribed, dermal-based nodule, mimicking metastatic melanoma. Note the grenz zone image separating the tumor from the overlying epidermis.






High magnification of PDM typically shows marked cytologic atypia and multiple mitotic figures image.
